Are there any requirements for the installation surface and installation location ? Yes. If there are foreign objects such as iron filings, burrs, dust, etc. in the TIMKEN bearing , the bearing will make noise and vibration during operation, and even damage the raceway and rolling elements. Therefore, before installing the bearing, you must ensure that the installation surface and installation conditions are clean.
Is it necessary to clean the bearing before installation ? The surface of the spherical bearing is coated with anti-rust oil. You must use clean gasoline or oil to clean it carefully, and then apply clean high-quality or high-speed and high-temperature lubricating grease before installation and use. Cleanliness has a great impact on the life and vibration noise of the bearing. But we would like to remind you that fully sealed bearings do not need to be cleaned or oiled.
The bearing temperature can generally be estimated based on the external temperature of the bearing seat. However, it is more accurate to use the oil hole to directly measure the temperature of the outer ring of the bearing. The bearing temperature gradually increases from the start of operation, and the temperature usually stabilizes after 1 to 2 hours. If the TIMKEN bearing is not properly installed, the temperature will rise sharply and appear abnormally high. The reasons include too much lubricant, too small bearing clearance, poor installation, and excessive friction in the seal installation.
The rotation sound of the bearing can be checked with a stethoscope, and strong metal noise, abnormal sound, irregular sound, etc. indicate abnormality. The reasons include poor lubrication, poor precision of the shaft or bearing seat, damage to the spherical bearing, intrusion of foreign matter, etc.
1. Selection and control of tolerances of shaft and bearing chamber: After the TIMKEN bearing is pressed into the bearing chamber, there is an obvious " rustling " feeling when it is turned by hand. This may be because the tolerance of the shaft is too large or the roundness of the shaft is not good. After the bearing is pressed into the bearing chamber, it should rotate flexibly without any obstruction. If it is obviously not flexible, it means that the size of the shaft is too large and the tolerance should be lowered. Therefore, when controlling the tolerance of the shaft and the bearing chamber, the roundness must also be controlled. At present, many domestic manufacturers only control the tolerance, but not the roundness.
2. Prevention of foreign matter during assembly: When the spherical bearing is installed on the rotor for dynamic balancing, it is easy for the iron filings generated during dynamic balancing to enter the bearing. Therefore, it is best to perform dynamic balancing before installing the bearing. In order to facilitate assembly, some manufacturers apply some oil or grease to the bearing chamber for lubrication during assembly, but it is often difficult for operators to control the amount. If too much oil or grease accumulates in the bearing chamber, it is easy to enter the bearing along the shaft when the bearing rotates. It is best not to apply oil or grease to the bearing chamber. If it is necessary to apply it, it must be controlled so that there is no accumulation in the bearing chamber.
3. Bearing assembly method: Because bearings are high-precision products, improper assembly can easily damage the joint bearing channel and cause bearing damage. Bearings should have a special mold when assembled, and cannot be knocked at will. When pressing into the shaft, only the small circle can bear force, and when pressing the large circle, only the large circle can bear force. When assembling, air pressure or hydraulic pressure is required. When pressing, the upper and lower molds must be in a horizontal state. If there is a tilt, the bearing channel will be damaged due to force, causing the TIMKEN bearing to produce a guide sound.
4. Prevention of paint rust: The characteristic of paint rust is that it often occurs in sealed motors. The motor sounds good when assembled, but after being stored in the warehouse for some time, the motor makes a loud abnormal sound, and the bearings are seriously rusted when removed. In the past, many manufacturers thought it was a problem with the bearings. After our continuous publicity, motor manufacturers have now realized that it is mainly a problem with the insulating paint. The problem is mainly because the acidic substances volatilized from the insulating paint form corrosive substances under certain temperature and humidity, which corrode the grooves of the spherical bearings and cause damage to the TIMKEN bearings. The only way to solve this problem is to use good insulating paint and assemble it after drying and ventilation for a period of time.
