Things to note when installing tapered roller bearings

Under normal circumstances, the tapered roller bearings is fixed on the optical shaft with a tapered tightening bushing, but there are some things that need to be paid attention to when installing the tapered roller bearings, so that the ttapered roller bearings can be installed well. The following is based on the To understand the knowledge of tapered roller bearings, let’s share relevant bearing installation precautions.

1. Using an open adapter sleeve, the tapered roller bearings can be installed at any axial position on the shaft, but care must be taken to ensure that the bearing will be positioned in the correct position.

2. Use an adapter sleeve to install the tapered roller bearings, first install the fixed end bearing. Determine and record the desired axial movement of the free end bearing within the housing.

3. Install the free end bearing so that the axial clearance is used for the axial movement of the outer ring of the axial free end bearing, and the axial clearance is at the outer end (farthest from the fixed end bearing).

4. The interference fit required for tapered bore spherical roller bearings can be obtained by one of the following two methods:

a. Push the bearing onto the sleeve to predetermine the distance.

b. Measure the remaining bearing clearance when the sleeve is pushed into the inner ring of the bearing. Because accurate measurement of axial elevation distance is extremely difficult, the residual method is usually the method of choice.

5. The residual method involves measuring the internal clearance of the bearing when it is not installed and pushing on the adapter sleeve until the measured clearance (residual clearance) = the (original) clearance when not assembled is as deep as required for the correct interference fit of reduction. Clearance measurement is done using a thickness (gap) gauge. (Note: Thickness gauges should be inserted into every two or three unloaded rollers in each row of rollers, and the axis of the inner hole of the bearing should be in a horizontal position relative to the axis of the shaft, and the center line of the outer ring on the rolling element should be in a horizontal position. )

6. Heating of bearings with larger tapered bores can also be used to measure the moving distance, but the results must be checked using the residual method (measurement of the clearance when not installed and the final residual clearance when the bearing is cooled). Also ensure that the bearings are not heated above 120C.

7. When large bore bearings use withdrawal sleeves, it is recommended to use hydraulic auxiliary procedures.
