The split bearing unit includes cylindrical roller bearings, bearing seats, bracket seats and some connecting parts. The bearings, bearing seats and bracket seats are all split at 180° along the axial direction, making them easy to install and disassemble. Because of the installation and disassembly of split bearings, it can effectively save disassembly and assembly time, reduce production costs, and improve production efficiency. However, some matters are also required during installation, otherwise it will easily cause damage to the split bearing. Based on our understanding, the following are four major things to pay attention to when installing split bearings.

1. Bearing seat installation: When installing the split bearing bush, bearing seat, and bearing cap, the back of the bearing bush and the bearing seat hole should be in good contact. If it does not meet the requirements of the platform, the bearing seat hole should be used as the benchmark, the back of the bearing bush should be scraped, and the split surface of the bearing bush should be 0.05~0.1mm higher than the split surface of the bearing seat.

2. The contact area between the back of the bearing and the bearing seat: the upper tile shall not be less than 40%, and the lower tile shall not be less than 50%, and the contact area must be uniform. No gaps between the bottom of the lower tile and both sides are allowed. Once there is a gap on both sides of the lower tile, , causing the bearing bush to withstand increased pressure, causing rapid wear. The contact spot between the bearing bush and the bearing seat should be 1 to 2 points/cm2. Too few will cause the bearing bush to intensify wear, deformation and cracking.

3. Installation of bearings and journals: When installing bearings, attention must be paid to the contact angle and contact points between the bearing bush and journal. The central angle corresponding to the contact surface between the bearing bush and the journal is called the contact angle. If this angle is too large, it will affect the formation of the lubricating oil film, destroy the lubrication effect, and cause the bearing bush to wear out quickly; if it is too small, it will increase the pressure on the bearing bush and also cause the bearing to wear out. wear and tear. Generally, the contact angle is between 60 and 90 degrees. The contact points between the bearing bush and the journal are related to the equipment load, 2 to 3 points/cm2 for medium load and continuous operation, and 3 to 4 points/cm2 for heavy load and high-speed operation equipment. The contact angle and contact spots must meet the requirements. It is necessary to scrape and grind. First scrape and grind the lower tile, then the upper tile, apply a thin layer of red paint on the journal, place the shaft on the bearing bush, rotate it once in the forward and reverse directions, and then remove it. If the mark is found to be uneven, scrape and grind it. Where there are marks are uneven areas, they should be scraped and repeated several times until the marks on the bearing bush are evenly distributed and meet the requirements.

4. Pay attention to the adjustment of the bearing clearance during installation. It is generally controlled at 1/1000~3/1000 of the shaft diameter. It can be optimized according to the equipment load, rotation speed and oil viscosity.

Due to the special structure of split bearings, they are widely used. The most important reason is the convenient installation brought by replacing conventional bearings, which is very simple and efficient. Split bearing accessories are easier to inspect than conventional bearings. Quickly disassemble the bearing seat top cover and bearing box, and all bearing accessories can be easily inspected, making it easy to participate in maintenance phase planning. It can be seen that compared with conventional bearings, split bearings can save a lot of testing procedures.
